ABOUT
Echo House was formed by Chris Webster, born and raised in Madison, Indiana hailing from a family of musicians—his father a bass player for a regional act for most of his life and his grandfather a guitarist for multiple regional/touring bands and also featured as a studio musician in multiple studios in Nashville Tennessee. Chris began performing live at the age of 13 in a rock ‘n’ roll cover band called RockBox as the lead guitarist, the band formed in 2008 and rocked just about every birthday party, reception and local festival in the regional area. Ultimately winning the Madison Regatta Battle of the Bands in 2011. Chris also served as the lead vocalist and guitarist for The Weekend Classic, an alternative rock band that toured the US from 2014 to 2018. As the primary songwriter and frontman, he played a pivotal role in the band’s development, forging a distinctive sound that blended indie rock, alternative, and pop-punk elements into dynamic and melodic compositions.
A notable milestone in the band’s career occurred in 2016, when The Weekend Classic won the Ernie Ball PLAY Warped Tour Battle of the Bands. Emerging victorious from more than 11,000 entrants, which earned the band the $50,000 grand prize and the opportunity to record an EP at the Beat Kitchen Studio in Nashville, Tennessee alongside artists Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory) and Ryan Key (Yellowcard). Which lead to the band signing with independent international record label Rude Records based in Milan, Italy.
In addition to his work with The Weekend Classic, Webster has recorded in various professional studios like ABG Studio located in Crown Point, Indiana with Seth Henderson (producer of bands like Knuckle Puck and Real Friends) and collaborated with guest artists like Joe Taylor (Knuckle Puck) on select projects, enriching the band’s catalog with diverse sonic contributions. He also currently performs as the bassist for Vaguely Familiar Band, extending his involvement in the regional music scene through this ongoing role.
Looking ahead, Webster plans to support the development of young musicians by opening his school of music, Echo House, in downtown Madison—known as Indiana’s Music City. Situated on the same grounds that helped shape his own sound and sustained him throughout his music career, Echo House aims to foster the next generation of local talent and contribute to the vibrancy of the community’s artistic landscape.
Webster’s multifaceted contributions reflect a sustained dedication to songwriting, live performance, creative collaboration, and community mentorship.
